Travel in the USA

Following the internship, CDS WEST participants will have 30 days to travel independently throughout the U.S. We hope that you will take this opportunity to leave New York City behind and take in the cultural and geographical diversity of this country that spans a continent: quaint colonial towns in New England and the Chesapeake, dramatic landscapes ranging from the Desert Southwest to the Rocky Mountains, rolling hills and expansive prairies, miles of beaches, and dozens of cities that could hardly be more different from New York.
