Summer Internship In Germany
Program Eligibility
Candidates for the University of Michigan Summer Internship Program in Germany must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- U.S. or non-U.S. citizen; German citizens cannot participate
- Enrolled before, during, and after the program at the University of Michigan, or U.S. citizen graduating in May 2010
- 18-30 years of age
- High-intermediate German sufficient to function in a German-speaking work environment immediately upon arrival in Germany (extra language training available, if needed)
- Minimum of two years of university level studies in one of the following fields:

- Business: general business administration, international business, import/export, marketing, PR, sales, advertising, finance, hotel management
- Technical Fields: chemical-, electrical-, industrial-, and mechanical engineering, logistics, information technology, web design, multimedia, graphic design, architecture
- Liberal Arts: international relations, German, economics and other social sciences**
- Prior work or volunteer experience in target internship field. It is important for the participant to show through their application that they can adjust to a professional environment and know how to use their theoretical skills in the workplace.
- Ideal candidates also have clear career goals, good communication skills, and exhibit flexibility and diplomacy
**Please note that paid internship placements for Liberal Arts majors are rare. Additional funding is available through the CDS International Scholarship Fund.
