“It is no exaggeration to say that my summer has deeply influenced my future academic and post-college plans. All aspects of my summer from the internship itself to the friends I made in Berlin helped make this an amazing summer.” |

“It was great to experience first-hand the research environment and be included in frontline research. As a person majoring in chemistry, I was able to fully appreaciate the value of this internship at the science level. As a person fascinated with German, both historically and culturally, I was able to recognize just how much this past summer has shaped me and matured my character. I returned to America with an earned confidence, knowing that if I can handle myself in such a wild experience, I will be more than prepared to tackle future challenges in my life. I have in a single summer progressed to a very ambitious level where I will only be satisfied with the best of options.” |

“This internship was an important step in my education because it prepared me for life after college. This internship eased me into the field of biochemistry while still giving me valuable, real-world experience. Being alone in a foreign country was a bit scary at first, but being the only English-speaker forced me to learn German and also learn the German culture, for which I am now incredibly grateful. I got to know many Germans which wouldn’t have happened if I had been surrounded by other Americans. I’m truly grateful that I got the chance to go to Germany and experience the world outside of my own.” |

“I wanted to complete an internship that would further my career goals and go beyond a standard language class/study abroad experience. I found CDS online and it was the perfect fit; immersion in German language and culture AND an internship. I definitely improved my German and had amazing career-related experiences like creating my own museum exhibit and working in a German-speaking environment. It was an amazing summer!” |
