Summer Internship Program in Spain
Program Overview
The Summer Internship Program in Spain provides an excellent opportunity for U.S. and Canadian students to gain work experience abroad, improve their Spanish language skills, and experience Spanish culture firsthand. Internships are available in a variety of fields, including, but not limited to, business/finance, engineering, tourism, IT, media/communications, international relations, the nonprofit sector, Spanish studies, and economics. All internships are unpaid; however, participants are invited to apply for funding through the CDS International Scholarship Fund. The program runs from the end of May to mid-August.
Program Highlights
CDS, in cooperation with its representative in Spain, places participants in internships customized to their field of interest. Companies range from small family-owned businesses to medium-sized companies to multinational holdings. Many companies are experienced in accommodating foreign interns and have previously worked with CDS.
CDS offers:
- Assistance during the application process including help drafting a Spanish-style resume
- Internship placement in your target field with a Spanish host company
- Pre-departure information mailing
- Financial assistance through the CDS International Scholarship Fund (must apply separately)
- Health insurance (optional)
- Cultural orientation seminar in Madrid
- Housing assistance (optional)
- Support throughout the program in Spain and the U.S.
- Re-entry information about marketing work experience abroad in the U.S.
Application Deadline
Applications and supporting materials must be postmarked or submitted online
by January 15.
