About Hosting through CDS

In today's highly competitive economy, U.S. companies often want to internationalize their business through diversity in the workplace and the development of contacts and clientele in other countries. International trainees can help companies achieve these goals. CDS is authorized by the U.S. government to issue all the information and legal documentation required to obtain J-1 Exchange Visitor visas for training in the United States. Qualified individuals (21-35 years old) may complete paid or unpaid practical training at a company in the U.S. for 2-18 months through our programs.

Benefits of Hosting

Interested in gaining experience, trainees are highly motivated to learn more about the American way of doing business. This strong motivation also leads trainees to be industrious workers, eager to share their knowledge and skills with their host company in the United States. The relationship between the company and trainee is mutually beneficial. The demand for such opportunities is great; what's often missing is a smooth and efficient process to bring the two parties together.Companies that have hosted international trainees appreciate the fresh perspective individuals from different cultures bring to the workplace, the practical benefits of bilingual and bicultural personnel, and the long-term professional contacts overseas.

One example is Senior Technologies, Inc. (STI), located in Lincoln, Nebraska, which has hosted more than 30 international trainees. STI is a distributor and manufacturer of medical devices and has recently begun to export its products to Europe. CDS trainees have helped in many ways, ranging from market research to sales support of European distributors. In addition, as STI expands its international business, participants play an important role, helping the company understand some of the cultural differences which can affect international business deals.

"Trainees foster communications and understanding, facilitate technology and information sharing, and contribute to the company's multicultural perspective."
- Gerd Mueller, former Executive Vice President and CFO, Bayer Corporation

"For many years, CDS International has been a strong partner with us by being flexible and fast in helping young Germans to come to the U.S. as trainees."
- Wilfried Niederkofler, Founder and CEO of New World Travel

"We have had 30 trainees from six different countries through CDS. We pursue international trainees because they are willing to learn and observe everything about hotel management in the U.S. and their international education complements that of our U.S. employees. They are motivated and therefore productive. International trainees also reflect the diversity of our guests/clientele."
- Tony Ruscitto, Human Resource Director, Hotel Plaza Athenee, New York
