Host Company Responsibilities
To comply with the Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs' regulations, CDS is required to have companies:
- submit a training plan outlining the scope and content of the participant's proposed program; and
- complete an intermediate evaluation form at the midpoint of the training program; and
- complete a final evaluation form at end of training program.
The trainee may be dedicated to one particular project or rotated
between departments and responsibilities at the host company.
Costs to the company depend upon arrangements made for each individual
program. Most participants receive some sort of compensation,
which is negotiated between the employer and the trainee.
Companies located in the United States, who are interested in
hosting an international trainee already selected by CDS, should
fill out the Host Company Request Form.
Companies located
in the United States, who have already identified an international
trainee and require the services of CDS (e.g. J-1 Exchange Visitor),
should contact Tom O'Connor, Senior Program Manager, Professional
Development Programs at (212) 497-3514 or by filling out this
form.
PLEASE NOTE: International trainees interested
in coming to the United States should select "Programs to the
U.S." at the top of this page.
