Alfa Fellowship Program
The Alfa Fellowship Program is a high-level professional development exchange program placing qualified American citizens in work assignments at leading Russian organizations in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, and government. The Alfa Fellowship Program includes language training, seminar programs, and extended professional work experience. Fellows receive stipends, travel, housing, and insurance.
Duration: 11 months, June - April.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program for Young Professionals
Scholarship program with strong focus on the cultural experience, designed to give participants understanding for life, education, and professional training in Germany. Intended primarily for young adults (18-24) in business, technical, vocational, and agricultural fields.
Duration: 12 months.

EMGIP Fellowship Program
The Émigré Memorial German Internship Program, now a fellowship program, provides opportunities for U.S. and Canadian students to complete one-, two-, or three-month internships with German Landtage (state parliaments). Students and young professionals from the U.S. receive funding for this program through the CDS International Scholarship Fund. The program runs three times a year.

The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship Program
To provide young American professionals (23-34) with executive level internships in the federal government and private sectors in Germany. Seminars in Berlin, Paris, Strasbourg and Brussels provide a meaningful understanding of issues facing the European Union and Germany today. Candidates are competitively chosen from the fields of business administration, economics, journalism and mass communications, law, political science and public affairs/public policy.
Duration: 9 months.

Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM Work Immersion Study Program in Germany (WISP)
Provides community college students with the opportunity to spend three months in the south German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg to improve German language abilities and gain practical work experience at German companies. This scholarship program is funded by the Baden-Wuerttemberg STIPENDIUM.
Duration: 3 months, June-August.


Placement Services

Internship Program - Germany
Provides internship opportunities for US students and young professionals (internships must begin within 3 months of graduation) in Germany in a variety of fields including, but not limited to, business/finance, marketing, hotel management/tourism, computer science, and engineering.
Duration: up to 12 months. Program start dates are year-round.

Internship Program - Argentina
Provides internship opportunities for U.S. students and young professionals in Buenos Aires and Córdoba, Argentina in the fields of business/ finance, hotel management/ tourism, computer science, and engineering fields.
Duration: 2-3 months. Program start dates are year-round.

Summer Internship Program in Germany
Provides internship opportunities for U.S. students in Germany in the fields of business/finance, marketing, hotel management/tourism, computer science, and engineering.
Duration: 2-3 months, June-August.

Summer Internship Program in Spain
Provides internship opportunities for U.S. students in Spain in the fields of business/finance, marketing, hotel management/tourism, computer science, and engineering.
Duration: 3 months, June-August.

SCHOTT Summer Internship Program
To provide training opportunities (paid placements) at Schott Glass in Mainz, Germany for American students (completed junior year) and recent grads in business/marketing & sales, engineering, information technology and physical sciences. Language training will also be provided if necessary.
Duration: 3 months, June-August.

Transatlantic Renewable Energy Exchange
Provides students with an opportunity to complete a three-month paid internship focusing on renewable energy, improve German language skills, and experience German culture firsthand.
Duration: 3 months, June-August.

Work Authorization Services

Independent Work Abroad - Germany
Provides assistance with work authorization in Germany for U.S. students in business, liberal arts & science, technical and engineering fields.
Duration: up to 18 months.

Independent Work Abroad - Switzerland
To provide work authorization in Switzerland for recent U.S. graduates from universities and colleges.
Duration: up to 18 months.


Study Tours/Customized Programs/Special Projects

Study Tour to Beijing, China: An Introduction to Chinese Culture and Business - 2008 Dates TBA
Experience China through a unique 14-day study tour to Beijing designed for students of business, economics, Asian studies, international relations and/or Chinese. Discover China's cultural, social, political and economic environment through a series of lectures and visits to renowned companies and institutions. The study tour also includes exciting cultural excursions in and around Beijing, including a two-day trip to the ancient city of Pingyao.


Short-term Study Tours


CDS International works with college administrators and faculty to design short-term study tours for their students in fields ranging from business to engineering to liberal arts. Our staff members, who work closely with colleges to focus on topics that are relevant to the specific interests of their students, are available to accompany study tour groups. Students learn about a foreign country and its businesses and culture through visits with companies, institutions and organizations, and other enriching activities. Study tours are offered for groups of 15 to 25 participants and cost approximately $1600-$2500 per participant per weeklong trip, depending on services provided. CDS services include any or all of the following: company visits, flights, accommodation, private bus and driver, sightseeing and cultural activities, and a CDS representative to accompany the tour. Customized Internship Placement Programs



CDS International works with college administrators to design internship placement programs that meet the specific requirements of their students and degree programs. These programs offer students the chance to participate in international internships while still enrolled and under the advisement of their home college. Students gain practical work experience and learn new skills relevant to their chosen career field, while living and working in another country. CDS services include any or all of the following: internship placement, work authorization, language training, intercultural seminar, pre-departure and in-country orientation, arrangement of insurance and other program assistance.
